Elles Springs is an intuitive singer songwriter with a warm, deep voice. Her music is a mix of americana, jazz, blues and pop with a touch of country. She is known for her distinctive voice and no stranger to the music industry.
Her father (also singer/guitarist) teaches her to play guitar around when she iss 8 years old and soon Elles discovers singing is something she loves to do.
In 2003 Elles participates in The 'Gelderland Talent Heartland Superstar' and wins the final with her self-written songs and her ability to move both jury and audience. At that time Elles' first album "Straight Ahead" is recorded and released independently.
In February 2004, the cooperation between Elles and producer Gertjan Visser comes about.
The first result of the collaboration between Elles & Gertjan is a Meet & Greet with Norah Jones. By recording their own version of Norah's song "Sunrise", they win a competition on Radio 2, one of the large Dutch radiostations .
Several projects follow, a big gig in The USA , where her song "So good to know you" is part of a commercial on radio & TV. Elles gets the opportunity to sing on stage with legends like The Trammps, Gloria Gaynor & Tavares in Atlanta, USA.
In 2008 Elles' Second album "Hearts' N Flowers" (produced by Gertjan Visser) is released. A Dutch newspaper writes: "Elles puts a lot of drama in her voice, nothing is weedy and fragile, here stands a great singer ". Another newspaper describes Elles as the wilder sister of Ilse De Lange .
In April 2011, Elles is selected out of 12,500 entries to participate in the TV show "The Voice of Holland" and reaches eventually The Battles. Shortly after her departure from the show she tweets her coach Roel her homemade video & song "Roel, if you think its over” (to the tune of Chris Rea's “Fool, if you think it's over.."), especially made for him with the tongue-in-cheek comment: "Singing, I can handle it a little …".
The video reaches 50,000 hits on YouTube within 2 days and stands up against Beyonce and Britney in the Most Viewed chart on YouTube. The story behind “Roel, if you think.." is listed on every news site and very appreciated by the Dutch public. After her participation in The Voice; Elles gets booked a lot, which leads to support gigs for the famous Dutch rockband Golden Earring.
The love of Americana music, combined with the need to write songs again makes the choice of a totally new concept easy. Elles gathers a strong team of musicians around her and soon, plans become reality. A new year (2015) was born with a new project called The State Sinners!
To Elles, The State Sinners are the ultimate feeling of finally 'coming home'.
In 2016, the writing process goes in full swing and Elles works in cooperation with guitarist Mark de Grauw on a collection of beautiful Americana songs, recently released on the album “Reveal”. The CD release takes place November 20 in a sold-out Luxor Live in Arnhem!
The album Reveal is recorded, produced and mixed by producer George Konings of Sound Vision Studio Arnhem. For the mastering, Elles travels to the legendary Abbey Road Studios, where famous mastering engineer Miles Showell has mastered her album.
The album “Reveal” is now for sale on iTunes, Deezer, Spotify and other digital platforms.
