Caroline Kamp studies double bass at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Codarts, University for the Arts, Jazz Academy).
During her studies she is taught by Wim Essed, Marius Beets, Stefan Lievestro, Hein v / d Geyn and Frans van Geest.
In 2007 Caroline takes part in a summer school where established names such as Billy Hart, Philip Catherine, Gerard Presencer and Dena DeRose are the teachers.
In addition to her studies, she also completes a minor in Education, obtaining her teaching certificate. Her main instrument being double bass, Caroline also plays ukulele and has a beautiful singing voice. Furthermore, Caroline is a great songwriter.
She has played in several formations in both the Netherlands and abroad. With one of these, the pop/jazz group Scarlet Mae, she tours England in May 2013. The band has also recorded an EP and an album. The album is recorded at Electric Monkey in Amsterdam and has been well received by the audience and rewarded with very good reviews. Caroline also stars in the ensemble Zarowe (Bulgarian folk music) as they tour Bulgaria in the summer of 2012. Other places Caroline has played: Lowlands, Paradiso, TEDx, Panama, Sugar Factory, The queen, Patronage, Rotown, Eurosonic, Appelpop, North Sea Round Town, The Great Escape (UK), Radio 1, Radio 2, 3FM Radio 4, Radio 5 and Radio 6.
